HIV/AIDS has just turned 40 years old and Pennsylvania continues to be one of the most impacted states in the nation (CDC 2015). As of 2020, Pennsylvania had the 10th highest HIV infection rate in the nation.

The CDC reports that the rate of infection among gay and bisexual men in on the rise – especially in young men of color. Many of those who carry HIV do not know their status. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has more information online here.

We continue today in the HIV/AIDS crisis – hoping for the resources to have an HIV-free generation. Advancing HIV/AIDS awareness, access to testing and treatment, education, and support all throughout the year is absolutely critical. Programs and opportunities on addressing HIV/AIDS are taking place all throughout Pennsylvania every day.
