PYC Foundation Welcomes Seven New Board Members

We are thrilled to share that the Pennsylvania Youth Congress Foundation is welcoming seven new board members this month. There are now ten members of the PYC Foundation Board of Directors. The board is comprised of dedicated leaders from all across our commonwealth.

The new members include (as pictured from top left clockwise):

Miracle Jones (Pittsburgh)
Ja’Nae Tyler (Harrisburg)
Jasse Camacho Vera (Erie)
Priyanka Mari (Harrisburg / Philadelphia)
Jacob Kelley (Berwick)
Brenda Nguyen (Philadelphia)
David Borges (Bellefonte)

The members come from various backgrounds. Several are currently in school, studying fields from social work to human sexuality, and one is in medical school. Several are working in HIV/AIDS services and support, while others are in real estate and civil rights advocacy. We are proud to have members who are trans, Black, non-binary, Latinx, Asian, first-generation American, and individuals with disabilities. They live in rural, suburban, and urban communities. Some have been involved in formal LGBTQ advocacy work for years, while others are new at supporting statewide activism.

There are now three professional drag performers on our board, which we think is pretty sweet. You can check out Andrew Oddgenus, Alonya Chest, and Trixy Valentine in venues across Pennsylvania.

PYC Foundation board members are young Pennsylvanians who volunteer to support the overall work of the organization, meeting at least four times a year in various locations throughout PA.
