Celebrating Pride in Pennsylvania + Stonewall 50

Happy Pride Month, Pennsylvania!

For this 5oth anniversary year of Stonewall, we celebrate all those who participated in the historic rebellion. We would not be here without you. We also remember the countless number of LGBTQ people who were arrested, beaten, and met with state violence by police over decades of American history, including right here in Pennsylvania.

Stonewall was a series of riots ignited by those who were most pushed to the margins. Trans people — particularly trans women of color — youth, drag queens, sex workers, and low income folks were at the heart of the Stonewall Rebellion.

We honor those who fought back. We commemorate our elders and ancestors for their bravery, sacrifice, and legacy. We more deeply commit ourselves to centering those most impacted by systems of oppression while continuing to fight back. We recognize the harm that is still sharply felt by so many LGBTQ people, especially in trans communities and communities of color.

Today is still Stonewall, and we will continue to rise up and fight back.

For us, Pride is a celebration of our community and a call to urgent action for advocacy, education, and love.

We have been thrilled to celebrate Pride with so many of you this summer. Since Pride season in PA kicked off last month in New Hope, we have participated in Prides in Gettysburg, Chester County, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Doylestown, and Milford.

Thank you so much for all of the support you have been giving us at each and every Pride gathering.
